Petals Galore!

Here are two more of last months samples for the Clarity Show
One of the sets were the fabulous filigraphy petals. They go so well with the tree stencil but I used them without that!

Here is the first one.
It was using just one of the petal shapes which I stamped to make a flower shape in mica boss and then covered it in gilding flakes.

I then stamped the petals again but this time I cut them out and gave them a bit of shape using the bone folder. I mounted the base flower onto the topper piece of card and then added the petals. I left it to dry.

I then made the card and on the base I stamped the same petal randomly in brown ink on the brown card. I stamped a final petal and cut it out to make the stopper.

I added the flower topper to the card and added the dew drops and added the stopper once I had the topper in the right place.

The next card used a different petal and this time I wanted a black and white look.

I stamped the petals on to black card using a white ink pad in the shape you can see then cut it out as one piece.
I then cut a piece of white card and stamped a sprig at the top I placed the petals on so I could position the sentiment.
I then matted and layered it onto a DL card and then stuck the petals into place.

I finished the card off using some tiny black gems in two corners!

Well I am off to watch a bit of TV before retiring to bed. I have work tomorrow after a week off!!

Hope you can leave me a comment if you visit here.

Have a great week

Love and hugs

The Big Top

Well its a very wet and wild Saturday and I have been out with Amy shopping for her new flat! Thankfully it was dryish getting the car packed up with all their new goodies. She is so excited about her new place and her and Matthew are enjoying every moment together getting things for when they move in! It brought a tear to my eye to see them together discussing which pillows to get and whether to get this spice rack or that one!!! And purple is definitely their theme!

Travelling about today I did notice that there is a circus big top set up in Stockport and that reminded me that I needed to share another of the cards I made for the clarity shows last weekend using the circus stamp set.

Here it is.

I started off by cutting a piece of theuva card into a sqaure. I marked the centre with a pencil so I could rub it out later.
I then stamped the Big Top in place and created a mask for it. I then placed the sunburst stencil over the top and brushed the three colours into the stencil with the smallest of the brushes. I also did a topper for the words and brushed that with the colours through the stencil so it matched.
I removed the Big Top mask and coloured the entrance in black.
I stamped the word circus over the top and acrobats in the opposite corners.
I used a corner punch to give me rounded corners and then mounted this on to red card. I found a piece of backing paper that had similar colours on it to what I had used and put this on my 8 x 8 card blank then mounted my topper on it. I finished the corners with card candy and mounted the words in some 3D pads. And that was it!

Hope you are having a nice weekend and are safe, warm and dry.

The Circus is in Town

Roll Up Roll Up! Come and visit the circus ...it's the greatest Show on Earth

Oh no that was the Clarity show last week! Wasn't it a great show...Barbara was certainly on top form with her demos. I found myself glued to the screen on all of them and held my breath on one...I'll let you guess which it was!

Anyway I thought I would start to share my samples with you from the show. and start with the circus set.

I do like this set and I just know it will be great for men and children as well as female friends so a really useful set!

Here is one of the cards I made with it.

I wanted to make a card that would allow a little surprise to reflect what you get when you go to the Circus. So I started off by making the central flap. Having played about with the stamps I discovered that the circus word would make a nice circular border that the clowns face fitted into. I added the little red dot in between each word just to separate them out. I brushed ink around the edge to finish that part off.

The next stage was to make the main topper. I wanted to be able to see the tall ring master with the flap down as well as up so I cut the card long enough to do that and stamped the ringmaster in place twice. I put feint pencil lines to show where my flap would be covering and then stamped the underneath part.
Here it is.

I then coloured in the images with promarkers before I attached the flap and then mounted it onto black card then onto a red card blank.

Well thats all from me for today. I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Love and Romance

Well I cannot believe that January has come and gone already! Its been a very wet one and my heart goes out to those who have been or are still flooded out. There is a lot I have to be thankful for!
And today I am picking up my new car. I am such a lucky lady!!! I do know that!

The start of February and it means that you have the Clarity shows to look forward to and Sunday and the stamps and stencils are amazing this month. But then they are every month. You also have a new challenge over at the Clarity Challenge Blog and this month is Love and Romance. With Valentines day coming up its a good excuse to get out the hearts and flowers and anything that means Love or romance to you. Its all in the interpretation. Just remember that you must only use stamps by Clarity.

I think the Blog DT had fun with this one looking at their projects. And have you seen our newest DT member's project!

I hope you take time to visit all the blogs of the DT to see how they made their projects.

Here's mine.

I started off by taking a piece of Clarity card and chopped a centimetre off length and width. I then stamped the heart in the centre using pink Archival ink. I blotted it then masked it off.

I then cleaned the stamp well and using versamark I stamped randomly over the rest of the card. I then got my Big and juicy ink pad called Happy Birthday and inked my brayer in the central part of the pad. I then brayered over the versamark hearts. I left it to dry then polished the card to reveal the white pattern.
I mounted this on to pink card.

I then took an 8x8 card blank and inked the heart stamp in the rainbow ink pad and randomly stamped the background. I mounted the topper into the top section of the card.

I added a strip of the pink card to the bottom panel and stamped it using the Happy words Kit. I made some flowers using some of the flat flowers I got from Sweet Lilac Flowers and added a bit of glitter to everthing
So there you have it...my project for Love and Romance.

It's all about the LOVE

Well that's the weekend nearly over! Time is just flying! I hope this coming week goes fast... I have a feeling it will as we have practical controlled assessments at school all week!

Anyway I thought I would show you my last 3 cards from the January Clarity shows

The Theme was definitely LOVE but that makes sense with February coming up and all of us making our valentines cards.

The first one used the Love framer with the kissing couple and the birds. I also used the seaweed stencil for the background and for the water effect in the Heart shape. I made my own mask for the heart and sponged around it to get the shape. I then went round the shape with a squiggly line in a pink fineliner and wrote the words 'conquers all' in the bottom part of the shape.

The next card I used the Love framer and couple in the boat in the O. I also did a bit of masking so it looked like the lock was going through the O. I added the key and the Kind hearts verse all silver embossed. I added a bit of colour to the lock with promarkers and brushed around the edge of the card with very pale blue. I sponged in the O to create a little scene.
The blank 8 x 8 card was stencilled with the double vine stencil and some sequin waste.

The final card I did with the heart shaped lock, a key stock and a heart as the key all embossed in gold. I masked this off. then I added the sentiment using the letterbox kit and masked this off. I brushed over the card with peacock feathers and sponged around all the masks to give a shadow effect.
I edged the card with a gold pen the matted and layered onto the blue then gold card before putting on an 8x8 cream card blank

Well thats it for January's Samples.

Next Sunday we will be watching Barbara again and then I can show you my  February samples....you are in for a treat!!! The stamps are fab!

Feeling the Love!

Well it may be cold and stormy outside but its warm and cosy in our home!
I have had a great day....posted my samples for the next clarity show then went to look at cars..and came home knowing that next Saturday I will have a new car on my drive! SOOOOO excited now... I hope this week flies by!

Next weekend will be all about C.....Car on Saturday and Clarity on Sunday ....it don't get much better than that!

Anyway I thought I would show 2 more of last months samples. These two used the Garden heart and Kind Hearts Verse

This one used the magic foil card where you stamp in versamark and use clear embossing powder.

As you heat it the image appears in the shiny foiled finish.

I Thought this style of card suited the stamp as it highlighted the heart as a main image with the verse underneath it.

The flowers are Sweetlilac flowers and I think just finished off the card really nicely.

The magic foil card comes in silver as well and is just as it says on the label....MAGIC!

The next card was a small square card blank.

I cut a piece of pearlescent card and stamped the verse in the centre of it.

I then masked off an area over the verse and using raspberry ink I stamped the heart randomly to create a background. I tried not to overlap it and also to get any blank bits.

I sponged around the mask in grey then I removed the mask and masked off the background and using a stencil brush I added a pale pink round the verse.

I used the flourish from the numbers set and matted it onto a a piece of raspberry pearlescent card and mounted it onto a 6 x 6 card blank. Tiny diamonte hearts finished it off.

If you have been to have a look today please leave a comment

Under the Sea

Good Afternoon

Still recovering from the shock of seeing so much card in one place at Maria's unit on Sunday when I group of Clarity Friends went to help her move in! Its a smashing place theat will be such a great base for her and is somewhere that I am sure she will be doing classes in the near future..when she finds where we put everything!

I thought I would share with you the card I made using the seahorses and the stencils that go so well with them.... The seaweed Frame Stencil and the double bubble stencil.

I stamped and embossed the large seahorse and then the smaller one. I chose the small one so that they faced each other. I then coloured them in with promarkers and then masked them off....so glad I had the masks.
I used the stencil brush and double bubble stencil to make a background. I moved the stencil half way through this to get the bubbles overlapping! The brushes really give a very gentle colour and you can get some really soft shading using them.

I layered this  topper onto silver card so that the tiniest bit was showing under the main image.

The DL base card I used the frame stencil on and again moved it so I had a frame around the edge to put the topper on.

And that was it! Quite easy and straight forward really.

Anyway thats it for today

Have a lovely evening and if you drop by please leave a comment.

Happy Crafting.
