An Award ....how Exciting!!!

Well - they say small is beautiful so how lovely to receive my first blog award from the lovely Fiona (who's blog is fab and definitely worth a look too) for my little blog! Thank you so much for thinking of me x
The idea of the Liebster Blog Award is to spread the love from one small blog (under 200 followers) to other small blogs. This helps to spread knowledge and readership

To accept the award, you must:

1) Link back to the person who gave it and thank them for thinking of you.

2) Post the award to your blog.

3) Give the award to 5 bloggers (with less than 200 followers) that you appreciate and value.

4) Leave a comment on the blogs of the five people you have chosen to let them know.
"Liebster" in German means "dearest", so to carry on the Liebster tradition, I am going to pass the award on to 5 people who's blogs have been an inspiration to me and my crafting.

All of these ladies are amazing crafters and have inspirational blogs.

Painting boxes!

Yesterday I decided I wanted to do some painting and remembered I still had a box to paint that I bought some time ago! I also had a small black box that I had kept from a gift I was given.
As I hadn't painted for some time I thought I needed to get a feel for the paint and brushes first so I did the small one first. I did use one of Sheena Douglass's Paint fusion stamps to do this one. Here it is!

Then I wanted to do roses on the larger box. I don't need the stamp for this one and just went for it. I positioned my 3 larger roses first then the buds then the rest just fitted around it. And here it is! The box is one I got from Paperchase. It is big enough to take a ream of A4 paper and the finish on it is like linen so it needed quite a bit of paint to make it flow. The box is for Amy! I hope she likes it!

Well that's all from me today! Hope you have a lovely day and let me know if you have been to have a little look.

My Art Journal

Sometimes I don't always want to make cards or paint items but I just need to do something arty.

I have noticed people talking about Art journals and so I thought I would start one.
I got a book in the Hobbycraft sale and started it.

Here is my first page. I started by doing the title first then the sunflower in the corner then it grew from there!!

I wanted my next page to be a bit different and having seen a RAINBOW in the morning I was inspired to do this.

I couldn't let Feb 14th go by with out doing something to mark the day. Sorry about the spelling but it just fits so well!

I also did this rose which I was quite pleased with.

My final page that I am going to share with you today is my zentangle. I find this so good to help my de-stress! It took 2 nights to do this and I was quite pleased with it. I can't decide which is my favourite bit of it.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at some of my Art Journal pages. Maybe you could let me know which one you like the best. I hope I can share more with you another day but I will have to do some more first!

Hope you have a good arty day!

Tuesday's Makes!

I had a lovely day crafting yesterday among other bits and pieces. I made my kingfisher picture into a card but as its for my bro I am not putting it on yet as it isn't his birthday 'til the end of Feb. I was a girl guide and am always prepared!! Haha!

I wanted to make some cards for my stock box so I made some 6x6 cards which I love and found some images to colour. I had a great time matching the papers and matting and layering them.
Here they are:-

The other one I did was using paint fusion so took a bit longer. I just love the sunflowers and they paint so nicely.
The little charm on this is from a pack from the works ....really pleased I popped in there!!!

So that's what I did yesterday....what a great day!!!

Happy Valentine's Day.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
I thought you would like to see the card I made for Colin for today.

I was pretty pleased with how it turned out and he seemed pretty impressed with it when he opened it this morning.

And What did I get off him?
Well I did get a card saying I was his queen of Hearts and these....

I love daffodils because they remind us that winter is on its way out and warmer weather is just around the corner.

Hope you all have a lovely day today and feel the love!!!

Clarity Kingfisher

I had a couple of hours spare this morning before I go to the dentist and the Kingfisher was crying to get out of the box. So out he flew so I could create this!
I hope I have done justice to this lovely stamp!
I will be back later after my trip to the dentist!
Bye for now

What a way to start the hols!

I have just had a fabulous time at a craft workshop which was organised by H.G. Arts and Crafts shop at Poyton Garden Centre. The workshop was run by Jo Rice who had everything organised so we could make two fabulous cards.

It was a lovely start to my half term holiday and a fab way to spend a cold afternoon in February.
Here is the first card we made
For this one we used a piece of double sided adhesive sheet which we stamped on to. then we placed a piece of acetate over the stamped image.
Next we turned it over and removed the backing paper.
This was covered in gold flakes and the excess rubbed off.
We matted and layered it onto gold and black card and then attached it to the front of a card, added some faux stitching and 3 gold card candy!
This was the second card we made!
We used the same stamp for the topper but this time we used distress inks to stamp and colour the sides.
The base card was distressed in the same colour then over stamped with the same stamp and a verse stamp then the topper was put on it.
I really enjoyed the afternoon and the ladies who were at the workshop were a smashing bunch. I hope I get to do another one soon!
Thank you Jo...you have really set me off on a crafting week!!!
