Our Anniversary

We had a lovely day. We went over to Newport for the night. On the way we stopped at a pub in Haughton called the Bell. It was a really old pub with the low beams and didn't look much from the road but it was lovely inside and the landlord was very welcoming. We had lunch there which was gorgeous and would set us on til much later.
From there we went on to Newport and beforre going to our hotel we called round to see Martin and Charlie. Martin was out but Charlie was there adn was glad to see us. She made us a cup of coffee and we had a natter. Martin came back in andwe nattered some more then we left to go to our hotel so that they could get ready to meet us later for our wild night out.

In our hotel we found a gift from Martin and Charlie for our anniversary.
We had a wash and brush up! Got changed and then went down to the hotel bar where we had arranged to meet our friends. here are the photos of us outside the hotel.

Then Charlie and Martin Arrived and we started our night out!
Here they are with me outside our hotel at the start of our pub crawl

My Day out

I went out to Oswaldtwistle Mills yesterday with my hubby as part of our summer break.

Whilst I was going there we called into Dawn Bibby's place Topaz Crafts and my hubby bought me a few things for my anninversary present. He said he would prefer to get me something I wanted!!!! Too right!!!

Here is a photo of what I got!

After we had been there we went on the the mills.

We had a lovely cup of coffee and a piece of flapjack then had a good look round and bought a few things there. We did go into the food hall too and bought a load of meat and sausages for the freezer....well recommended if you ever do go there!

Anyway I will be off as we are going out somewhere for lunch today so I will tell you all about that tomorrow!

Enjoy your day

Docrafts Tilda Challenge Card

I had some time this afternoon as Hubby is painting the outside of the house and my daughter has gone to work in my car! So I set to and mad the card for the Tilda Challenge on the Docrafts Website. I love doing these challenges when I have the time to.

Here is how I made it.
I folded a piece of A4 cream card in half then cut off a piece from the bottom to make a square card.

I found some backing paper in my stash that I had printed off from the canon website.

I had coloured Tilda with my watercolour pencil crayons and added a border cut with my X cut border system.

The flower was made up from paper flowers from C&C

Sentiment and pearls from Lakeland when they did craft stuff

The Challenge was to create a card that would use the colours from Neopolitan icecream. It could be any shape and have whatever embellishments you wanted.
I think it works pretty well

Anyway I better tidy up my table and get on with making tea

See you all soon

Happy Sunday Morning

Well the end of the 2nd week of my hols and it is not a bad day at all.
I am going to do some baking today ...my student daughter is in need of some home baking she tells me!

I have been busy knitting over the last few days and have knitted a baby blanket. It had to be approx 24 inches square and it is just about that! I am doing it as my entry for the knitting section of the competition my WI has in September. I am pleased with the finished article but I don't expect to win anything as there are a lot of really experienced knitters in my WI. However all the blankets that get entered are to be sent to the Special Baby care unit in Manchester after so its a worthwhile cause to knit for.
Here is a photo of it.
Please let me know what you think of it
